I have a problem where we have purchased an old production process that is controlled by a windows 2000 PC. I have noticed Norton bought out Power Quest so will one of the Norton Ghost products re compile my Power Quest Drive image or would a later version of Power Quest ie 2002 or version 7 re create the image.

Drive image 5 and drive image 2002 both use DOS based images.pqi that are compatable with Ghost. I always found it odd Symantec kept that compatibility and never added support for the DOS based Ghost files.

But as Red says, the Ghost 15 recovery disk will have no problems with those image files. I have done it myself. Drive Image 7 used.v2i image files, it's basically the same as Ghost 9 and those image formats are fully supported as well except the ones made with medium compression.

(but there is a workaround for that as well). If you don't need to restore the image but only need to open it up to extract data from it I have a tool somewhere around here that can do that.
