Right after Reacher is commended for a mission in the Balkans, he's immediately sent 'back to school.' However, as other disillusioned readers have pointed out, there were horrendous, vulgar scenes that were completely unnecessary. The nightclub descriptions were reprehensible. They added less than nothing to the story and were the most off-putting things I have ever read in any book.
